Tickets and booking
Admission is seasonal. The regular ticket is 10 RMB from April 1 to October 31 and 5 RMB from November 1 to March 31. A combo ticket costs 20 RMB in peak season and 15 RMB off-season. The pack lists only these prices and does not itemize what the combo covers, so confirm its inclusions at the ticket office or by phone (010-64031102 or 010-64033225) before paying the upgrade.
No advance-booking channel appears in the pack. With entry priced at 5-10 RMB and gates opening at 06:00 (April-October) or 06:30 (November-March), buying on arrival is the practical default; just mind the last-entry times, 20:30 in peak season and 19:30 off-season.
Entrance and routes
The pack lists four gates — North, East, South, and Southwest — all under the address No. 1 Wenjin Street, Xicheng District, Beijing. The North Gate is the only one with a subway link (Line 6 to BeiHai North) and is also served by buses 13, 42, 107, 111, 118, 612, and 701 to the BeiHai Park North Gate stop. The East Gate is reached by bus 5 to Xibanqiao. The South and Southwest Gates share the BeiHai bus stop, served by routes 5, 101, 103, 109, 124, 128, Zhuan 1, and Zhuan 2.
Route by transit, not by assumed layout: the pack gives no gate-to-gate distances and does not name a main entrance. Also note that the inner-garden sights and small courtyards keep separate, shorter hours than the park grounds (08:00-18:00 peak season, 08:30-17:00 off-season, last entry 30 minutes before closing), and all of them except Round City close on Mondays.
Photo spots
The pack names no specific viewpoints or landmarks inside the park, so plan shots around the timing data rather than a location list. Grounds open at 06:00 from April 1 to October 31 and 06:30 from November 1 to March 31, while the inner gardens and small courtyards open later at 08:00 (peak) and 08:30 (off-season) — an early arrival covers the general grounds before those sights open.
For late light, peak season is the wider window: entry runs until 20:30 with the park closing at 21:00, against 19:30 last entry and a 20:00 close off-season. Mondays matter too: every inner-garden sight except Round City closes (statutory holidays excepted), so any shot that depends on those sights needs a non-Monday visit.
Timing and crowds
The pack carries no crowd or attendance data, so no quiet-day or busy-hour claim can be made from it. What it fixes are the windows: grounds open 06:00-21:00 with last entry at 20:30 (April 1-October 31) and 06:30-20:00 with last entry at 19:30 (November 1-March 31); inner gardens and small courtyards run 08:00-18:00 (last entry 17:30) in peak season and 08:30-17:00 (last entry 16:30) off-season.
The one hard scheduling constraint is Monday: all inner-garden sights except Round City close, statutory holidays excepted. If those sights are the point, a non-Monday visit is the reliable move. The pack’s suggested duration is 1-3 hours — budget the low end for the grounds alone and the high end if the inner gardens are on the list.
Walking and effort
The pack lists no trail lengths, terrain, or elevation for BeiHai Park, so walking effort cannot be quantified from the data. The practical read: a suggested duration of 1-3 hours and four separate gates (North, East, South, Southwest) describe a visit you can scale — anchor it to one gate rather than assuming a full circuit.
If effort is a concern, the North Gate is the anchor to pick, since it is the only gate with a listed subway link (Line 6 to BeiHai North). The pack gives no gate-to-gate distances, so treat any cross-park walk as unmeasured and plan conservatively.
Getting there
Subway: Line 6 to BeiHai North station serves the North Gate — the only rail option in the pack. Bus: routes 13, 42, 107, 111, 118, 612, and 701 stop at BeiHai Park North Gate for the North Gate; route 5 stops at Xibanqiao for the East Gate; routes 5, 101, 103, 109, 124, 128, Zhuan 1, and Zhuan 2 stop at BeiHai for the South and Southwest Gates. Route 5 appears in both lists, serving the East Gate at Xibanqiao and the South/Southwest Gates at the BeiHai stop.
The park address is No. 1 Wenjin Street, Xicheng District, Beijing. The pack lists no taxi, parking, or cycling information; for transit questions, call the park at 010-64031102 or 010-64033225.
Cost breakdown
Admission is the only cost the pack contains. Regular ticket: 10 RMB from April 1 to October 31, 5 RMB from November 1 to March 31. Combo ticket: 20 RMB peak season, 15 RMB off-season. That brackets entry between 5 RMB (off-season regular) and 20 RMB (peak combo), with the combo costing a flat 10 RMB more than the regular ticket in both seasons.
No other fees appear in the pack — nothing for activities, transport, or food — so treat anything beyond admission as unpriced until confirmed on site or by phone (010-64031102 / 010-64033225). The combo’s inclusions are likewise not itemized in the pack; verify what it covers before paying the difference.
