Tickets and booking
Six adult ticket types are listed, all valid year-round (Monday-Sunday, 1 January-31 December). The observation ladder runs from the 433 m White Cloud & Starry Sky ticket (RMB 150) up through the 450 m outdoor platform (RMB 228) to the 488 m outdoor platform (RMB 328). Ride combos sit alongside: the 480 m Sky Drop combo at RMB 268, the 460 m Ferris Wheel combo at RMB 298, and the 488 m ‘One Tower, Whole City’ combo at RMB 398, the highest-priced option listed.
All figures are adult prices; the pack lists no child or concession rates. Published ride times are explicitly ‘for reference only’ and subject to change, so confirm availability before committing to a ride combo - the tower’s listed phone lines are 020-89338222 and 020-89338225. Booking ahead is the reliable move.
Entrance and routes
Canton Tower stands at 222 Yuejiang West Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou. The documented metro approach is a 160 m walk from Exit B of Canton Tower Metro Station, served by both Line 3 and the APM line.
Two other arrivals are documented: buses 11, 262, 468 and Tourist Sightseeing Line 1 stop at Canton Tower West, and the Haizhu Tram stops at Canton Tower - both are described only as ‘walk to arrive’, with no distances given. All three options end on foot at the tower, so the practical choice is whichever line runs nearest your starting point.
Photo spots
The listed viewpoints stack up the tower’s height. The 433 m White Cloud & Starry Sky deck is the entry observation ticket; the 450 m and 488 m outdoor platforms are the listed open-air decks, with 488 m the highest level documented. Between them, the 460 m Ferris Wheel combo and the 480 m Sky Drop combo add ride experiences near the top.
Hours run 09:30-22:30 daily, so a late-afternoon slot keeps both daylight and evening options open. The pack publishes no illumination or night-viewing details, so plan your shots around the deck heights themselves.
Timing and crowds
Opening hours are 09:30-22:30, every day of the year. Rides keep shorter published windows: the Ferris Wheel runs 10:00-22:30, but from 15:00 on Mondays and from 17:00 on the last Monday of each month; Sky Drop runs 10:00-22:30, from 12:00 on Mondays and from 17:00 on the last Monday of each month. These ride times are stated to be for reference only and can change.
The pack carries no crowd or queue data, so plan around the clock rather than around predicted busy periods. A 1-3 hour visit fits easily inside the operating day; going earlier in the window leaves slack if a ride schedule shifts.
Walking and effort
This is a vertical sightseeing trip, not a hike. The documented metro approach is a 160 m walk from Canton Tower Metro Station Exit B; arrivals by bus (Canton Tower West stop) or Haizhu Tram also finish with a walk, though the pack gives no distances for those. Inside, the pack lists no further walking distances - the ticket tier, not footwork, sets how high you go.
For open-air exposure, the 450 m and 488 m outdoor platforms are the listed open-air decks; the pack does not specify conditions on the 460 m Ferris Wheel or 480 m Sky Drop rides. Budget 1-3 hours for the visit.
Getting there
Three documented ways in:
- Metro: the APM line or Line 3 to Canton Tower Station, then a 160 m walk from Exit B per the listed address.
- Bus: routes 11, 262, 468, or Tourist Sightseeing Line 1 to the Canton Tower West stop, then walk.
- Tram: the Haizhu Tram to Canton Tower stop, then walk.
The pack lists no fares or journey times for any of these options, so check current Guangzhou transit fares separately.
