Tickets and booking

Admission is 80 RMB per the data pack, with add-ons priced separately: electric boat 60 RMB, sightseeing bus 30 RMB for the loop or 10 RMB one-way. Half-price tickets cover children between 1.2 m and 1.5 m tall under adult supervision, minors aged 6-18, seniors aged 60-69 holding a senior-citizen card or ID, and full-time students at undergraduate level or below (including vocational, secondary and technical schools) with valid ID; young visitors from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan qualify with their travel permits or student ID. Free entry applies to children under 6 or under 1.2 m tall, seniors 70 and over with a senior card or ID, and a long list of documented cardholders — active military, disabled visitors, journalists, fire-and-rescue personnel, licensed guides, and holders of the Hangzhou Park IC card, Yuhang-district resident cards or the Hangzhou cultural-tourism benefit card, among others the park lists.

The pack lists no online booking channel, so treat the gate as the practical default: ticket sales stop at 16:30 in the cool season (Oct 8-Mar 31) and 17:30 in the warm season (Apr 1-Oct 7). For confirmation of current terms, the park’s numbers are 0571-88106688 and 0571-88106696.

Entrance and routes

The data pack pins the park at 518 Tianmushan Road, Xihu District, Hangzhou, and documents one arrival point: the Xixi Wetland Zhoujiacun bus stop, from which it is a walk of roughly 153 m to the park. Zhoujiacun also appears in the pack as a sculling-boat departure point (100 RMB per hour per boat), as does Hongyuan, while Fudi is listed through its 288 RMB-per-hour sculling package.

The pack does not itemize other gates or their facilities, so the reliable plan is to enter via the Zhoujiacun side unless you have a specific reason to start at Hongyuan or Fudi.

Photo spots

The pack names no specific viewpoints or ranked scenic points, so build a shot list around what it does document: the wetland waterways. The 60 RMB electric boat puts you at water level for the park’s channel-and-greenery scenery, and the slower sculling boats hired at Zhoujiacun or Hongyuan (100 RMB per hour per boat) or via the Fudi package (288 RMB per hour) give a similar vantage at rowing pace.

Between boats, the sightseeing bus loop (30 RMB) covers ground across the park for walk-and-shoot stretches — Fudi is the one embankment the pack names by name. Treat any additional named spots shown on on-site maps as bonuses; the data pack does not list or rank them.

Timing and crowds

Hours follow two seasonal patterns, open daily in both: 07:30-18:30 from April 1 to October 7, and 08:00-17:30 from October 8 to March 31. The cutoffs matter more than the closing time — ticket sales stop an hour before close (16:30 or 17:30) and last entry is 30 minutes before close (17:00 or 18:00).

Since the pack’s suggested duration is 3 hours or more, entering by early-to-mid afternoon is the reliable way to get a full visit: by about 14:00 in the cool season, about 15:00 in the warm season. The pack carries no crowd or queue data, so there is no evidence-based quiet period to recommend — the seasonal hours are the only timing lever it supports.

Walking and effort

The pack lists no trail lengths, surface types or elevation figures for Xixi, so treat walking distances as unknown and plan around time instead: the suggested duration is 3 hours or more. What it does document is a set of ways to cut the walking — the sightseeing bus (30 RMB for the full loop, 10 RMB one-way) and the 60 RMB electric boat both cover ground you would otherwise walk, and sculling boats can be hired by the hour at Zhoujiacun and Hongyuan.

A sensible default is to mix modes: bus or boat between areas, walking for the stretches in between. Anyone who needs to limit exertion can lean on the bus loop and the boats and still fill the 3-hour minimum.

Getting there

The park sits at 518 Tianmushan Road in Hangzhou’s Xihu District. Per the pack, buses 277, 356, 596 and 506C, plus the special line running from Liugongyuan to Jingshan Temple, all stop at Xixi Wetland Zhoujiacun; from that stop it is a walk of about 153 m to the park. The pack lists no metro connection, so these bus routes are the documented public-transport option.

Inside the park, the sightseeing bus (30 RMB loop / 10 RMB one-way) and the 60 RMB electric boat are the listed ways to get around, with hourly sculling boats available at Zhoujiacun and Hongyuan.

Cost breakdown

Core costs from the pack: admission 80 RMB, electric boat 60 RMB, sightseeing bus 30 RMB for the loop or 10 RMB one-way. A basic entry-plus-boat day therefore starts at 140 RMB, or 110 RMB if you take the bus loop instead of the boat.

Sculling boats are priced by the hour, not per person: 100 RMB per hour per boat at both Zhoujiacun and Hongyuan, a 288 RMB-per-hour package at Fudi, and a 69 RMB-per-person ‘Yinxiang’ sculling package. On discounts: half price for children 1.2-1.5 m tall with an adult, ages 6-18, seniors 60-69 with a senior card or ID, and students at undergraduate level or below with valid ID; free entry for under-6s or under-1.2 m, seniors 70+, and the documented cardholder categories (military, disabled, journalists, fire-and-rescue personnel, guides, Hangzhou Park IC card, Yuhang resident card, Hangzhou cultural-tourism benefit card, among others the park lists).
