Chongqing 2 Day Itinerary

Why this route

This is a two-day driving route that takes in Chongqing’s mountain scenery one stop at a time. The plan gives each of its two scenic areas — Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area and Heishan Valley — its own day, and marks the driving with Sinopec fuel stops: Binjiang Xincheng and Daguan West on Day 1, Heishan Valley on Day 2. The theme is a compact escape from the city into mountain country, with refuelling handled before the sightseeing rather than during it.

The day split does the practical work: Day 1 carries the longer chain of stops, with two fuel stops leading into Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area, while Day 2 is a simpler run of one fuel stop and one valley. Each day reads as a fixed sequence — fuel first, scenery second — and ends at its headline sight, so the route holds together even without fixed timings at any stop.

Day by day

Day 1 — The day opens with a refuelling stop at the Sinopec Binjiang Xincheng Gas Station, followed by a second at the Sinopec Daguan West Gas Station. With the driving sorted, the day closes at its destination: Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area, the first of the route’s two scenic areas.

Day 2 — The plan is shorter and more direct: a single refuelling stop at the Sinopec Heishan Valley Gas Station, then Heishan Valley itself as the day’s — and the route’s — final stop. No stop in the plan carries a fixed duration, so treat the order of stops, not the clock, as the itinerary.

Trade-offs

If you only have one day, cut Day 2 entirely and run the Day 1 chain alone — Sinopec Binjiang Xincheng Gas Station, Sinopec Daguan West Gas Station, then Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area — which keeps one headline sight with both of its fuel stops. If the valley appeals more than the mountain, Day 2 is the easier half to keep as a standalone: Heishan Valley needs only one fuel stop, the Sinopec Heishan Valley Gas Station, ahead of it.

The three gas stations only make sense inside a driving plan, so anyone travelling without a car should simplify the outline to the two scenic areas — Jinfo Mountain Scenic Area and Heishan Valley — and drop the fuel stops altogether. Within a driving plan, the fuel stops are the natural flex points: each sits before its day’s sight, so shifting them earlier or later absorbs delays without eating into time at either scenic area.
