Why this route
This Southwest China route reads as a single arc from the snow mountains down to the lake. The first four days hold the high country: the Zheduo Mountain snow-viewing platform and Yuzixi on day 1; the Heavenly Road Eighteen Bends viewing platform, the Letong Ancient Town and Thousand-Household Tibetan Village scenic area, and the Daocheng White Pagoda on day 2; the Zhaguanbeng, Chonggu Temple and Pearl Lake chain on day 3; and the Luorong Pasture, Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake chain on day 4. The theme turns exactly once, on day 5, when the route settles onto Lugu Lake for the Walking Marriage Bridge and the day 6 lineup of Xiaoluoshui, Lige Island, the Lugu Lake National Scenic Area - Lovers Beach and Daluoshui Village. The Old Town of Lijiang then stands alone on day 7 as the town finale.
The day split gives each half of the arc its own shape. Every fixed visit in the mountain half sits in the one-to-two-hour range — an hour at Yuzixi, 1-2 hours at the Letong Ancient Town and Thousand-Household Tibetan Village scenic area, 1-2 hours at Pearl Lake, and one hour each at Luorong Pasture, Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake — so the high-country days advance in short, even pieces. The lake half then changes the structure: day 5 carries a single one-hour stop, the Walking Marriage Bridge; day 6 runs four stops end to end — an hour at Xiaoluoshui, 1-3 hours on Lige Island, an hour at the Lugu Lake National Scenic Area - Lovers Beach and three hours in Daluoshui Village; and day 7 gives the whole day to the Old Town of Lijiang.
Day by day
Day 1. The route opens at the Zheduo Mountain snow-viewing platform and moves on to Yuzixi for a one-hour visit.
Day 2. Three stops in sequence: the Heavenly Road Eighteen Bends viewing platform, the Letong Ancient Town and Thousand-Household Tibetan Village scenic area at 1-2 hours, and the Daocheng White Pagoda.
Day 3. Zhaguanbeng comes first, then Chonggu Temple, with 1-2 hours at Pearl Lake.
Day 4. Three stops at one hour each: Luorong Pasture, Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake.
Day 5. A single stop — the Walking Marriage Bridge, one hour.
Day 6. The lake day runs four stops: Xiaoluoshui (one hour), Lige Island (1-3 hours), the Lugu Lake National Scenic Area - Lovers Beach (one hour) and Daluoshui Village (three hours).
Day 7. The route ends in the Old Town of Lijiang, the only stop of the day.
Trade-offs
The schedule flexes at day 5, which lists a single stop — the Walking Marriage Bridge, one hour. Day 6’s four stops already add up to six to eight hours (one hour at Xiaoluoshui, 1-3 hours on Lige Island, an hour at the Lugu Lake National Scenic Area - Lovers Beach and three hours in Daluoshui Village), so folding the bridge into day 6 collapses the two days into a single seven-to-nine-hour day and hands back a spare day for a shorter trip.
Anyone who needs to simplify further should cut from the end: day 7 holds only the Old Town of Lijiang, so finishing after Daluoshui Village on day 6 ends the route cleanly and leaves the Old Town of Lijiang for a separate visit. Within day 6 itself, the one-hour Lugu Lake National Scenic Area - Lovers Beach stop is the natural drop if four stops in one day is too many.
